Abu Dhabi malls to hold 24-hour Eid Al Fitr sale

Last year’s sale attracted 250,000 shoppers

Abu Dhabi developer Aldar has announced a 24-hour sale offering discounts of up to 90 per cent at its malls in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain for the upcoming Eid At Fitr holiday.

Aldar said the sale would begin at Yas Mall and the Mall At World Trade Centre in Abu Dhabi and Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain on Friday, June 15.

Shoppers will be able to win hourly prizes including a Tesla Model-X car and Etihad guest miles during the period and have a chance to meet social media influencer MoVlogs and Arab comedian BinBaz.

Entertainment including Ayalla dancers is also being provided in each location.

“We are pleased to build on the success of Yas Mall’s inaugural 24 hour event last year which brought over 250,000 shoppers in one day, by adding in more malls to join in the fun – including the Mall at WTC, Abu Dhabi and Al Jimi Mall in Al Ain,” said Yas Mall general manager Saoud Khoory.

“Together, all three malls have included more discounts, added more incredible prizes and entertainment, and taken steps to offer the most seamless shopping experience for our customers.”

Free shuttle buses are being provided from Yas Island hotels to Yas Mall as well as special discounts on Careem rides during the sale.

The exact timing of the Eid Al Fitr holiday, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, has yet to be announced in the UAE but a Sharjah astronomer said this week it was likely to fall on Friday, June 15.
